Police: Teens Try to Rob AACo. Man With BB Gun, Plastic Bat
BALTIMORE, Md. (WJZ) -- Two teenagers, ages 14 and 18, were arrested after authorities said they tried to rob someone with a BB gun and a plastic bat in Odenton Wednesday afternoon.
The suspects confronted the victim outside a home near the intersection of Commodore Drive and Brigadier Boulevard at some point before 3:30 p.m. and told him to put his hands up, according to Anne Arundel County Police.
One of the suspects lifted his shirt to reveal what appeared to be a handgun tucked in his waistband and the other suspect brandished a bat, according to police. The attempted robbery was thwarted when the pair noticed a neighbor doing yard work and took off, police said.
Officers investigating the report located two suspects in the area who matched descriptions provided by the victim. One of the suspects, identified as Jamil Douglas Smith-Miles, 18, of Upper Marlboro, was carrying a BB gun, according to police. The other, identified only as a 14-year-old, was carrying a plastic bat.
The victim positively identified both teens, who were arrested and charged with attempted robbery.
