Police: Taneytown Woman Fatally Shot After Firing At Brother
TANEYTOWN, Md. (AP) -- A 68-year-old Taneytown woman is dead after police say she fired shots at her brother as she arrived to visit their ill mother.
Mary Glacken went to her mother's house, where her brother and his wife also lived, on Sunday night. But when Glacken got out of her car at the home, police say her brother saw her take a handgun out of her purse. Police say she fired a shot into a door of the home, and fired several more rounds once inside.
That's when police say Glacken's brother got a shotgun and fired at Glacken. She died at the scene.
Police say investigators found a gun in Glacken's hand and a loaded magazine in her purse.
Glacken's brother was questioned and released Sunday night without charges.
