Police Suspect Robbery In Slaying
WASHINGTON (AP) -- D.C. police say they believe robbery was the motive in the slaying of a 28-year-old accountant who had recently moved to the Capitol Hill neighborhood.
Jason Emma was shot to death early Monday in his car. He had parked two blocks from his rowhouse on C Street, Northeast, after a night out with friends.
Emma grew up in Arlington County and had recently moved to Capitol Hill to live with longtime friends.
D.C. Councilmember Tommy Wells, who represents Capitol Hill, says he spoke to Emma's father but has been given few details about the slaying. He says residents are concerned about seemingly random violent crimes in the neighborhood, which is generally considered one of the safer parts of the city.
