Police Shoot Armed Man
ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Police are investigating a shooting near the border of Montgomery County and the District of Columbia in which a police officer was injured and a suspect wounded.
Police in Montgomery County say they received multiple calls around 12:40 a.m. Friday where callers reported shots in 8100- block of Eastern Avenue. When police arrived they found a man with a gun, and shots were exchanged between police and the man.
As a result, one officer was injured but treated and released from a hospital. The suspect is in critical condition. Police say they are not releasing his name until family members have been notified. The officers involved have been placed on administrative leave as is standard practice.
An investigation is ongoing.
