Police Seek Driver In Fatal Hit-And-Run Crash
BELTSVILLE, Md. (AP) -- U.S. Park Police are looking for a driver who fled the scene of a fatal crash in Beltsville.
Officers say about 2:20 a.m. Monday, a vehicle driven by Louis Poteat of Seat Pleasant was struck from the rear while on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway. Poteat, 72, died at a local hospital.
Police say the driver of the striking car did not stop. They are looking for a dark-colored Mercedes that probably has front-end damage. Officers say the car may have been involved in a race with a silver Lexus.
