Police Search For Pasadena Bank Robbery Suspect
PASADENA, Md. (WJZ) --Anne Arundel County police are searching for a suspect in a Pasadena bank robbery Tuesday.
Employees at the Susquehanna Bank on Magothy Beach Road in Pasadena reported a robbery at their bank around 9:11 a.m.
According to police, when the suspect entered the bank he approached the teller, and informed them he had a bomb inside a shoebox he carried in.
Police say he demanded money from the teller and once he was given the money, he fled on foot without the shoebox.
A witness told police he saw the man run pass CVS and get into a nearby dark-colored pick-up truck. At this time, police do not know how much money the suspect took.
The witness also told police he saw red smoke coming from the suspect, which police believe could be from a dye pack the teller gave the suspect along with the money.
The suspect is described as a man in his 20s. He was last seen wearing a black beanie, a dark jacket, gray sweatpants and a ponytail.
Police said the truck was last seen getting onto Route 100.
The fire department learned the device in the shoebox was not a bomb.
