Police: Off-Duty Officer Shoots Would-Be Robber In Prince George's County
TEMPLE HILLS, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County Police say an off-duty D.C. police officer shot a woman who confronted him with a shotgun at his Temple Hills home.
Police say the woman approached the officer as he arrived home early Sunday and made demands as part of an armed robbery.
That's when police say the officer shot the woman and she fled in a car.
A short time later, police say the woman went to a hospital in the District and police say detectives linked her to the attempted robbery and shooting.
The woman's injuries are not thought to be life threatening and police say they expect to charge her when she is released from the hospital.
