Police: Md. Man Admits 7 Pa. Bank Robberies
YORK, Pa. (AP) -- Police say a Maryland man pulled over on a Pennsylvania interstate has confessed to robbing seven banks.
York Area Regional Police say Jason Dixon, of Baltimore, admitted the heists Wednesday after the car he was riding in was pulled over Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 83, not far from the Maryland border.
Authorities say Dixon had a gun and a large bag of cash at his feet when police stopped the car.
Investigators say Dixon robbed two banks Wednesday but was captured after officers stopped the vehicle, which matched the description of the getaway car used in one of the robberies. The female driver was also arrested.
Police say Dixon admitted robberies in York, Franklin, Lancaster and Cumberland counties.
Charges are pending.
