Police: Man Stabbed After Cutting DC Pizza Line
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Police say a man stabbed a person who had cut the line at a Washington pizza restaurant.
Authorities say the argument began just before 4 a.m. Monday when 20-year-old Jose Nelson Melendez Rodriguez skipped ahead in line at Jumbo Pizza. Another customer took issue with the maneuver, and the two went outside.
A police report says Rodriguez pulled a knife and stabbed the man. The victim then punched Rodriguez, knocking him unconscious. Later, a friend of the victim kicked Rodriguez in the head.
Rodriguez was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon and taken to a hospital. The man accused of kicking him, 20-year-old Justin McKinney, was charged with assault.
The stabbing victim was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
It's unclear if those charged have attorneys.
