Man Arrested In Gaithersburg Killing
GAITHERSBURG, Md. (AP) -- Montgomery County police say they've made an arrest in a fatal shooting in Gaithersburg this week.
Police say Jefferson Daniel Delgado, of Silver Spring, was arrested Friday night on a charge of first-degree murder. He was arrested in the Silver Spring area after police say he tried to escape from a car that detectives had stopped.
Delgado, 20, is accused in the Thursday killing of 25-year-old Michael Kirby Alvarado, who was shot in front of an apartment building. Police say Alvarado and Delgado knew either other but did not reveal the nature of their relationship. Witnesses reported seeing two men running away after the shooting, and police say the investigation is continuing.
No telephone listing could immediately be found for Delgado. It wasn't clear if he had a lawyer.
