Police Investigating The Death Of 26-Year-Old Airman At Linthicum Hotel
LINTHICUM, Md. (WJZ)-- The Anne Arundel County Police Department is investigating the death of a 26-year-old active duty member of the Air National Guard who fell to his death from his seventh-floor hotel room's balcony.
The airman was staying at the Embassy Suites in the 1300-block of Concourse Drive in Linthicum after returning from an overseas deployment.
Witnesses tell police that they saw the airman climbing over the balcony, hanging onto the railing and then falling onto the lobby of the hotel. Police say he suffered life threatening injuries and was transported to the Baltimore Washington Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Officers did not find any evidence of foul play or a suicide, and say that alcohol may have contributed to the incident after witnesses reported that the airman seemed intoxicated.
Authorities have not released the airman's name or his Air National Guard home state affiliation pending the notification of his out-of-state family.
