Deer Struck, Catapulted Across Carroll County Roadway Killing Man In Another Car

SYKESVILLE, Md. (WJZ) -- A 42-year-old man was killed after a deer struck a car he was riding in along a Carroll County road Thursday morning.

Kellen Carnes, 24, was driving along the southbound side of MD-97 when she struck a deer just before Bartholow Road around 6:43 a.m. The deer went airborne then flew into the northbound lanes of MD-97 and went through the windshield of a 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by 22-year-old Lindsay Stull and killed her passenger Jason Blair of Westminster.

MD-97 was closed in both directions from 6:50 a.m. to about 9 a.m. as police investigated the crash.

Maryland State Police is investigating the crash.
