Morgan State Graduate Student 1 Of 2 Found Shot In Burning Car
BALTIMORE (AP/WJZ) -- Police have identified two people found fatally shot in a burning car. Morgan State University confirms one of the victims was a graduate student.
The bodies of Alysia Strickland, 33, and Taewon Tuck, 34, were found early Friday in a burning car in an alley on Clifton Avenue. Police released their identities on Monday.
Police say the two had gunshot wounds to the head.
Morgan State University confirms that Strickland was a grad student in its architecture department.
Strickland's mother, Diane Strickland, is a retired judge who sat on the Virginia Tech shooting review panel. Her father is an attorney.
"It is with deep regret and sadness that we confirm that our beautiful 33-year-old daughter, Alysia Nicole Strickland, was murdered in Baltimore this past weekend," said Diane Strickland in a statement. "No further details are available at this time. We greatly appreciate your thoughts and prayers. Please allow us time to privately process our grief as a family."
The Stricklands are from Roanoke, Va.
