Police ID Truck Driver Killed In Anne Arundel Co. Crash
LINTHICUM, Md. (WJZ) -- It was a wild ride police say threatened the lives of many, but took only one: the erratic driver's.
Weijia Jiang has the shocking details about his history on the road.
Police are revealing new information about the man they say created a nightmare for drivers on Route 100 in Linthicum.
"I really didn't know if I was going to survive that or not," said Heather Tuminello, witness.
WJZ has learned Brian McNutt, 50, of Glen Burnie wasn't even allowed to be driving. Police say Motor Vehicle Administration records show McNutt's license was revoked since at least 2008.
But on rush hour Wednesday around 4:30 p.m., investigators say he drove a Dodge pickup truck at speeds close to 100 miles per hour, crossing over three lanes of traffic to get away from police.
McNutt ultimately crashed and died when the truck wrapped around a tree.
Nine months pregnant Tuminello says watching it unfold was terrifying.
"I was wondering if he was going to wreck into our car. We'd have to be rushed by ambulance. He's not even two inches from our car," she said.
Police also say McNutt was not the owner of the truck. He borrowed it from someone he lived with on the 200-block of Stiemly Avenue, though their relationship is unclear.
Police are waiting for forensic and toxicology results to try to answer why McNutt took such a deadly drive.
A search of court records does not show any traffic violations against McNutt, although he was arrested for having drugs in 2000.
