Police Have New Lead In Gas Station Shooting
BALTIMORE COUNTY (WJZ) -- After weeks of working a Baltimore County gas station robbery and shooting, detectives get a break in the case.
As Gigi Barnett explains, the new lead may net more witnesses and catch the suspects.
Surveillance photos have been released of one of the two robbers wanted by Baltimore County Police. Detectives say in the early morning hours of Feb. 18, two men walked up to a clerk at a Carroll Fuel station on Baltimore National Pike. They wanted cash. When the clerk refused, they shot him in the head and snatched the money.
Customers were stunned.
"I'll just make sure that at 3:30 in the morning, that I have people with me and it's not just me," said Corrine King.
But police seized newly-installed surveillance cameras that captured it all.
"We're hoping that someone looking at these surveillance photos may be able to identify the suspects and contact the Baltimore County Police Department," said Lt. Robert McCullough, Baltimore County Police.
The clerk survived the attack and now that police have a suspect on camera, customers hope an arrest is around the corner.
"If they have surveillance, then they should get them. It shouldn't be any problem and maybe it would persuade other people not do it," said Stephanie Pryor.
The suspects are described as between 17 and 25-years-old. They were wearing all black at the time of the robbery. Police say they will face attempted murder and armed robbery charges.
Police urge anyone with information to call Metro Crime Stoppers at 866-7-LOCKUP. A $2,000 reward is available for information that leads to an arrest.
