Police Continue To Investigate Fatal Hit-and-Run
GLEN BURNIE (WJZ) -- Anne Arundel County police are still searching for the driver who fatally struck a 67-year-old woman and then fled the scene.
According to police, Linda Lea Suski was attempting to cross Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard with her walker on Dec. 11 when she was struck around 5:36 p.m.
She was attempting to travel to her home on Clara Circle from the bus stop on the west side near Phyllis Drive. Suski was thrown into the center of the road, while her walker was shattered into dozens of pieces and scattered more than 100 feet.
Police say attempts to revive Suski were unsuccessful and she was pronounced dead after sustaining multiple injuries.
Police say the entire left side driver's mirror broke free from the striking vehicle and was left at the scene. They believe the car involved is a Ford Explorer or a Mercury Mountaineer manufactured from 1994 through 2000. It may be a 1996 model.
The car is described as a 4-door model that is white or another light color.
Witnesses told police the driver initially slowed down to a near stop in the middle of the road, but then sped away.
