Police: Bank Robbers Tossed Loot From Car Window
YORK, Pa. (AP) -- A Baltimore couple faces robbery charges after police say they robbed a central Pennsylvania bank then dumped the stolen loot out a window during a high-speed pursuit.
York Area Regional Police say Sade Long, 21, was behind the wheel as Eric Watkins, 30, threw money out the window of the getaway car as they fled toward Maryland on Interstate 83 Wednesday.
Some bills became stuck in the windshield wipers of a state police cruiser. Police searched the highway and recovered more money and a handgun allegedly used in the robbery.
The suspects were taken into custody at a roadblock and face charges including robbery, conspiracy and related charges. Bail was set at $250,000 for Watkins and $150,000 for Long. It was not clear if they had attorneys.
Police say the duo was involved in other robberies.
