Police: Bank Robber Rides Taxi To & From Crime
SALISBURY, Md. (AP) -- Salisbury police have arrested a man they say took a cab to a bank, had the driver wait while he robbed it, and left in the same vehicle.
Police say a man walked into the PNC Bank on Civic Avenue about 10:20 a.m. Thursday. Officers say he told a bank employee that he had a handgun, but did not show a weapon.
Authorities say the man was given an undisclosed amount of money and left the scene in the waiting taxi.
Police determined where the tax had picked up the suspect and made an arrest.
Gary Allen Mitchell, 42, of Salisbury has been charged with armed robbery and other offenses.
