Police: 1 Killed, 4 Hurt In Pasadena Garbage Truck Wreck
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A deadly wreck involving a garbage truck and six other vehicles in Pasadena Thursday is under investigation, authorities said.
Six cars were stopped at a red light in the southbound lanes of Ritchie Highway where it meets Jumper Hole Road about 2 p.m. That's when the garbage truck, driven by Robert Peter Neal, 55, of Abingdon, plowed into them, according to Anne Arundel County Police.
Janet Ellen Stomps, 44, of Arnold, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Neal was taken to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore as a precaution, and three other people were hospitalized with minor injuries.
Though authorities say the initial investigation has determined Neal is at fault for not slowing down, it remains to be seen whether he will face any charges.
