Plaster Falls From Hagerstown Theater During Show
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Officials of the Maryland Theatre in Hagerstown say audience members were shaken but not hurt when a 5-foot chuck of plaster broke free from the upper balcony ceiling.
Operations Manager Jessica Green tells The Herald-Mail that the plaster fell in five smaller pieces near a seating area Sunday night during comedian Tim Hawkins' performance.
She says 30 seats have been cordoned off while contractors assess the damage.
The nearly 100-year-old theater in downtown Hagerstown is home to Maryland Symphony Orchestra and the Miss Maryland pageant
