Plane Maintenance School Expanding In Hagerstown
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- An aircraft maintenance school says it's expanding at the Hagerstown Regional Airport.
The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown reports that the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics plans to build an 18,000-square-foot building for about $2 million.
The school currently leases about 15,000 square feet in a nearby building.
Campus Operations Director Gary Hoyle says the school is outgrowing that space and making a long-term commitment to the area.
The Pennsylvania-based school opened its Hagerstown campus about 18 months ago. Hoyle says it has 60 students.
The school also has operations in West Mifflin, Pa.; Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Vienna, Ohio; and Dunbar and Clarksburg, W.Va.
