Pitta's Finger Is Fractured, Playing Could Do More Damage
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Ravens TE Dennis Pitta just can't catch a break, or a football for that matter, now that it was confirmed after an MRI that his scuffle with teammate Kamalei Correa during a stadium practice has led to more than a small injury.
The team is concerned he could do further damage if he plays.
Harbaugh said, "They're afraid if he gets hit again, they may have to put a screw in it."
"It's absurd that it even happened," Harbaugh continued.
Pitta originally fractured and dislocated his hip during training camp in 2013. He made a remarkable recovery and missed just the first 12 games of the season, but then suffered a dislocated and fractured hip again which sidelined him for the season and has been rehabilitating the injury since.
Pitta hasn't played in a game since Sept. 2014 and has only played in seven games since 2012.
