Pilot Unhurt As Small Plane Crashes On Md. Farm
RIDGELY, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State Police say there were no injuries when a single-engine plane crashed in a farm while trying to make an emergency landing in Caroline County.
Police got a call about the crash about 9 a.m. Tuesday. The pilot, 69-year-old William Hatch of Chestertown, had taken off from Ridgely Airport in Ridgely in a Cessna.
Troopers say the aircraft lost power and Hatch tried to return to the airport, but crashed at the farm.
Police say Hatch, the only person on board, was not hurt. The plane was destroyed.
