Pilot Suffers Minor Injuries In Small Plane Crash
RAWLINGS, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State Police say a pilot suffered minor injuries when his antique plane crashed in Rawlings.
Troopers say 59-year-old Robert Armstrong of Rawlings crashed in the 1927 Pitcairn Fleetwing Bi Plane about 9:45 a.m. Sunday. Authorities say he had just taken from a private air strip and had climbed about 100 feet when the engine developed problems and crashed.
The Times-News of Cumberland reports that Armstrong was taken to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
