Prince George's County Man Gets Life Without Parole For 2010 Murder
UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- A Prince George's County man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for the murder last year of a woman with whom he was involved in a custody dispute.
Marcus Desmond Shipman was sentenced Friday in Prince George's County Circuit Court.
Shipman was convicted of fatally shooting Lacole Hines, 17, as she entered a liquor store. Shipman had said he would be willing to drop off their baby at that location, and prosecutors say they had numerous fights about the custody of the child. She died after being on life support for three days.
Prince George's County State's Attorney Angela Alsobrooks called the murder an "execution."
