Petition Group Announces Baltimore Co. Leaders
TOWSON, Md. (AP) -- Officials from a group that has developed an online method for collecting signatures for petitions is scheduled to announce leaders in its attempt to overturn new congressional districts.
MDPetitions.com representatives will announce new chairmen for their petition efforts in Baltimore County Friday morning.
The group is trying to collect more than 55,000 signatures to give voters an opportunity to overturn the congressional map on the November ballot.
The General Assembly passed the reconfigured map last year.
MDPetitions.com leaders are also working to bring legislation legalizing gay marriage to referendum.
They have already had one successful petition drive, adding a measure that would grant in-state college tuition to illegal
immigrants to the ballot.
