Man Struck & Killed By Commuter Train
HYATTSVILLE, Md. (WJZ) -- One person was struck and killed by a commuter train in Prince George's County Monday night, halting train rides back to Baltimore.
It happened near Baltimore Avenue and Decatur Street in Hyattsville around 6 p.m.
Police say the man was walking on the tracks while the train was approaching. The train's conductor sounded a horn, but the man did not move and was struck.
The pedestrian was found dead at the scene.
The MTA was forced to shut down several MARC train schedules through the evening rush.
The man who died was not identified.
