Person Struck And Killed By Amtrak Train In Md.
NEW CARROLLTON, Md. (AP) -- Amtrak officials say a person was struck and killed by a train near the New Carrollton station in the Washington suburbs.
The collision occurred shortly before 8:30 a.m. Sunday. Amtrak says the train was on the way to New York. No one on board the train was injured.
The accident is under investigation. Trains have been single-tracking in the area of the accident, causing some delays.
