Perryville Casino Revenue Down More Than A Third
BALTIMORE (AP) -- Maryland lottery officials say revenue at the Hollywood Casino in Perryville dropped more than a third in September compared to the year before. And they say the new Maryland Live! casino in Anne Arundel County has quickly taken a large lead among the state's three casinos.
The Maryland Lottery announced the figures Friday, saying the Perryville casino took in $3.3 million less last month than last September with revenue dropping to $5.9 million. The Maryland Live! casino that opened in June generated about $32 million while the Casino at Ocean Downs near Ocean City took in $4.9 million in September, up about 5 percent compared to September 2011.
About $20.8 million of the total revenue, or nearly half, is set aside for the state's education trust fund.
