Pepco Still Dealing With 2,400 Outages
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Pepco says it has restored power to 98 percent of customers who've been in the dark since a major snowstorm on Wednesday.
As of 5 p.m. Sunday, nearly 2,400 Pepco customers remained without power, including 2,000 in Montgomery County.
Pepco Region President Tom Graham says all crews will be kept on the job until every home and business is back in service. He says the remaining outages constitute "the most time-consuming work."
Customers have been complaining about Pepco's response to the storm. Steven Hubberman of Potomac tells The Washington Post that it's frustrating that Pepco "can't even give accurate information."
About 230,000 Baltimore Gas & Electric customers in Central Maryland lost power during the storm. BGE said the vast majority would have the lights back on by Saturday night, and by 5 p.m. Sunday, about 500 customers were still without power.
