Pepco Seeks $43.3M Rate Hike For Md. Customers
ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- The utility Pepco is seeking a $43.3 million rate hike in Maryland, the utility's third requested increase in two years.
Pepco filed an application for the rate increase Wednesday with the state Public Service Commission.
The proposed increase would raise the average monthly electric bill by $4.80 for residential customers in Montgomery and Prince George's counties.
Pepco officials say their request is justified by improved performance, declining power outages and extensive upgrades.
Pepco is also seeking a $44 million rate increase in the District of Columbia. That request is pending.
