Pepco Blames Snake For Easter Morning Outage
UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- Pepco says a large snake is to blame for an Easter morning power outage that affected about 7,000 customers in Prince George's County.
Thousands of customers in the Upper Marlboro area lost power for about three hours on Sunday morning.
Pepco spokesman Clay Anderson says a large snake got stuck in a breaker at a substation and was electrocuted, interrupting service for thousands of customers.
Power was restored to all customers just after 1 p.m.
