Pedestrian Struck, Killed On Highway In Hagerstown
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Washington County officials say a pedestrian has been struck and killed in Hagerstown.
Sheriff's deputies were called to the 1500 block of Dual Highway on Monday evening. Officials say a Pontiac SUV was heading east on the highway and collided with a pedestrian who was in the roadway.
The pedestrian is described as a 32-year-old man. He was taken to a hospital where he later died.
The driver of the SUV also was taken to a hospital due to the traumatic incident.
County Sheriff Douglas Mullendore has called for better lighting along Dual Highway this year after a string of pedestrian accidents.
