87-Year-Old Passenger In Pasadena Car Crash Dies From Injuries
PASADENA, Md. (WJZ)-- A passenger in the July 1 Pasadena vehicle collision died Sunday as a result of the injuries he sustained in the accident.
John Gilbert Szuba Sr., 87, was in the passenger seat of a 1999 Chevrolet pickup truck when a 1996 Saturn struck the side of the truck while trying to make a u-turn.
The collision occurred on Ft. Smallwood Road near Hog Neck Road in the early evening.
After being struck, the Chevrolet rotated clockwise and overturned. Szuba was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma with serious injuries.
The drivers of both vehicles were transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center with minor injuries.
Investigation indicates that driver error on the part of the Saturn driver, Kimberly Jo Blackwell, contributed to the crash. Neither speed nor alcohol appear to be contributing factors in the collision, police said.
Traffic officers are continuing with the investigation.
