Pasadena Man Struck, Killed By Car While Trying To Save Dog

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A man who was struck and killed by a car on Frederick Road Monday morning was trying to stop his dog from running into the roadway, Baltimore County Police say.

It was around 10 a.m. when Paul Gutoski Johnson, of Pasadena, stepped in the eastbound lane of Frederick Road, near the intersection with River Road, and was struck by a 2000 Toyota Solara. The driver of the vehicle stayed on the scene.

The 41-year-old was transported to the R Adams Cowley shock Trauma Center where he died just after 1:30 p.m.

The dog was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Crash Team.
