Party Like It's 2014: Baltimore Rings In The New Year A Multitude Of Ways
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The New Year is being celebrated all over the city in a lot of different ways.
Meghan McCorkell has more.
With a great view, the Rusty Scupper is the place to be during the New Year's Eve fireworks on the harbor.
"This is it. If it was me and I hadn't been here for 22 years, I think I'd be here as a guest all 22 years, enjoying the fireworks and enjoying the great food," said Edward Prutzer, general manager, Rusty Scupper.
Diners come back year after year for a front row seat to the big show that draws tens of thousands.
The New Year's Eve celebration is expected to bring in about $7 million for the restaurants and hotels in downtown Baltimore.
The drinks are flowing at B&O American Brasserie on Charles Street. The restaurant is celebrating its fourth New Year's Eve.
"Every year it kind of seems to get busier and busier. At midnight, we expect to have a nice little crowd in here," said Brendan Dorr, B&O American Brasserie.
And New Year's Eve isn't just for adults. At The Charmery in Hampden, a pre-bedtime ball was lowered.
"We can't stay up 'til midnight, so this is heaven for us. It's the perfect thing to do," said Lily Black.
"We wanted something at least before midnight, where you can bring the whole family out," said David Alima, The Charmery.
What a sweet way to start a new year.
And with all that delicious ice cream, those New Year's resolutions are definitely going to have to wait until Wednesday.
