Parkton Man Arrested After Soliciting Sex From Minor On Facebook

PARKTON, Md. (WJZ)—A Baltimore County man is under arrest after he's accused of trying to solicit sex from a 14-year-old girl on Facebook.

Police say Rahn Freeland, 26, sent the teen messages and lied about his age.

They arrested the Parkton man after he made plans to meet the girl.

Police say Freeland uses the name "Rahn Corleone" and may have contacted other underage girls.

According to WJZ's media partner, The Baltimore Sun, the girl began receiving Facebook messages from a man who saw her picture on Facebook in August 2011. She told the suspect that she was 14 and he told her that he was 20 years old.

In February, she met the suspect and realized he was older than he said he was. According to the police statement, the girl stopped responding to his messages, but the man continued to contact her. She notified her parents, who reported the situation to police at the Towson Precinct on March 6.

Police said that using the victim's account, a detective began communicating with the man and he solicited the undercover detective for sex. Police said Freeland was arrested Monday when he arrived at a location in Towson to allegedly meet the victim for a sexual encounter.

Anyone with information is asked to call Baltimore County Police at 410-853-3650.

Freeland is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
