Pa. Man Arrested At BWI With Loaded Gun
LINTHICUM, Md. (WJZ) -- A Lancaster County, Pa. man was arrested at BWI-Thurgood Marshall Airport after TSA officials found a loaded gun in his carry-on bag on Aug. 8.
TSA contacted the Maryland Transportation Authority Police who responded and confiscated the .380 caliber firearm, loaded with five rounds and an additional magazine loaded with six rounds. The man was arrested on a state weapons charge.
Airport operations were not impacted. The man was originally ticketed to fly to Las Vegas.
Weapons are not permitted in carry-on bags, but can be transported in checked bags if they are unloaded, properly packed and declared to the airline. Passengers who bring firearms to the checkpoint are subject to possible criminal charges from law enforcement and civil penalties from TSA.
