Owings Mills Woman Says She Was Beaten After Road Rage Incident
OWINGS MILLS, Md. (WJZ) -- A mother and her sons are recovering and living in fear after being attacked Thanksgiving night during an apparent road rage incident.
Rochelle Ritchie has more.
Photos show a woman bruised and beaten after a driver accused her of cutting him off. Police and the community are hoping for a quick arrest.
The photos were taken just moments after Tranelle Butler was brutally beaten by four men after being followed home.
"Had a black eye with three stitches," Butler said.
Her black eye is healing but there's still enough bruising and scarring to remind her of a Thanksgiving night that ended in horror.
"They could have killed me; they could have killed my sons. They had knives," she said.
It was around 11:30 p.m. and Butler was on her way home after enjoying dinner with family when she found herself the victim of an angry driver.
"I was run off the road by a road rage driver that claimed I cut him off and I really didn't. He started following me home and running me into the curb," Butler said.
When she did get home and park, Butler says the driver threatened to return with three more people to take out his anger. They did come back and that's when they began attacking Butler and her sons in the parking lot.
"Once he hit me, he said, `You're lucky that's all I did to you,' so now I am even more terrified to go home," Butler said.
Butler's sons came to her defense and were also kicked and punched. Scars and bruises of the attack are still visible.
"They had other weapons. I don't even know; I was just scared," Butler said.
The attackers eventually drove off and she and her sons were taken to the hospital. Her family is now gathering funds to give out an award for tips leading to an arrest.
