Owings Mills Man Sentenced To 15 Years In Jail For Producing Child Pornography
OWINGS MILLS, Md. (WJZ)-- A 31-year-old Owings Mills man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison followed by a supervised release for life for sexually exploiting a minor to produce child pornography.
According to Joseph Anthony Kallash's plea agreement, the charges stem from his encounter with a 15-year-old who he met on Facebook when he presented himself as a teenager. The victim was introduced to Kallash by her friend who was also 15.
Kallash had sex with her in November 2010 after he brought her and two of her friends to his residence.
When the victim told Kallash in June 2011 that would not have sex with him again, he asked her if her could do so with her younger sister, which is when the victim called the Baltimore County Police.
Police arrested Kallash and found two laptops, an external hard drive, iPod and camera cell phone containing sexually explicit pictures of minors. The pictures also included the victim's friend who had also had sex with Kallash in August 2010.
U.S. Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein announced Kallash's sentence.
"Child molesters no longer need to hang out at playgrounds and shopping malls because they have 24/7 access to children in their bedrooms," he said. "If you let your child use a computer, smartphone, iPod or any type of Internet-connected device without adult supervision, your child is in danger."
