Overnight Shooting, Stabbing In Downtown Frederick
FREDERICK, Md (AP) -- A man has been arrested in an overnight stabbing in downtown Frederick, and police say they're also investigating a shooting nearby.
Frederick police say they've charged Laterris Taray Plummer with reckless endangerment and first- and second-degree assault in the stabbing.
Police say he was found sitting in his car with a knife and was identified as the suspect by the victim. The stabbing occurred around 2:20 Saturday morning.
The victim, whose name was not released, was in serious but stable condition and undergoing surgery at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
Police are also investigating a shooting that happened about 15 minutes earlier in the same area. Police say a man was shot in the buttocks and is in stable condition. No arrests have been made.
