Orioles Manager Buck Showalter Live On The Fan

Orioles Manager Buck Showalter joined Vinny & Rob to talk about the Orioles off-season so far, preparing for spring training in Sarasota & the O's move back to CBS Radio with the Fan as the flagship station.

Buck on being back on 105.7 The Fan: "It's pretty cool that we are able to reach more people hopefully and continue to try to do something that people want to be a part of. But, it's good news for all of us & we think it's a really good fit for us, we're excited about it."

Buck addresses the players attending mini-camp "You know what's great? ...Tillman & Hunter & the guys on the west coast, Miguel Gonzalez...we don't have to tell them. It's part of the commitment they have and they want to be good at it & it sets such a great example."

Buck goes on, "I tell you the truth, I'd like to rather have the Ravens getting ready for another playoff game."

In Part 2  Buck talks about his maturation as a MLB Manager.

"When somebody says "If I had to do it over again, I wouldn't change a change a thing." ...of course you would! If you knew how that game was going to turn out you wouldn't have hung that slider. There's a million things you might, but there are certain absolutes you don't waiver from."

On Drafting & getting players ready for the big leagues:

"If you do your homework, you can get ahead of the curve. We got a kid here Tyler Wilson...It's getting to know these guys. This kid from the time he was a sophomore in high school to a senior at the University of Virginia did nothing but win games. So many people want to evaluate these guys with a (radar) gun..once you get to know the guy & the make-up you  understand why they are able to execute under pressure, under duress....everything is relevant." I can read stats, that's the easy part."
