Steve started out by asking Nate whether he sets numerical goals for himself, specifically for the amount of steals he wants to accumulate. He responded by saying that he does not like to do that but rather just takes what his opponents give him.
In response to a question regarding the game last night, Nate mentioned Manny's 0-2 ground ball to score a run and advance another runner to third. McLouth stressed how important those little things are if you want to keep winning games.
McLouth said he has never been around a player like Machado before. He said Manny is receptive, does not walk around with a big head and will only get better. He is a hard worker and his defense has already improved drastically.
Bob asked McLouth about the biogenesis scandal and whether baseball needs transcendent stars like Trout and Machado. Mclouth said that both those players go about their business professionally and are great symbols for the future of baseball.
Bob then asked Nate about the Angels series and what he can tell us about the LA Starter tonight Williams. Nate said that they faced Williams earlier in Anaheim and he pitched well. Throws hard and has a good slider and change up. Nate McLouth said that hopefully they get off to a good start.
Steve then asked about the Red Sox coming to town soon and first place being on the line. McLouth said that it is a big series, but as you get deeper and deeper into the season every game is important. McLouth said that they know exactly where the Sox stand and they are looking forward to the series.
Nate concluded by saying that it is insane how great the fans are here in Baltimore.
