Orioles Hall Of Famer Raising Awareness About Autism

TOWSON, Md. (AP) -- Orioles Hall of Famer B.J. Surhoff is getting the word out about a leadership conference to raise funds for autism support.

The Baltimore Sun reports the year's Finding Your Path Leadership Conference will take place Jan. 13 at Towson University's SECU Arena.  The all-day event will feature presentations from well-known figures including soccer star Mia Hamm, Matt Eversmann, Ollies Bargain Outlets CEO Mark Butler and Baltimore Symphony Orchestra music director Marin Alsop.

Proceeds from the event will support Pathfinders For Autism, Maryland's largest autism organization advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families.

Surhoff and his wife, Polly Surhoff, have been raising awareness about autism since their son was diagnosed with the disorder.
