Orioles Could Have Numerous All-Stars
Steve Melewski from MASN Sports joined The Vinny and Rob Show with Steve Kolbe Friday morning on 105-7 THE FAN to discuss the Orioles and their possible All-Stars.

All-Star voting concluded last night with many Orioles in contention to not only be apart of the Mid-Summer Classic but also contending to start in the game. Adam Jones looks to be a lock starter for the American League as well as slugger, Chris Davis.
As the voting closed Thursday night Nate McLouth was in fourth place for outfielders behind Jose Bautista. Manny Machado was in second place behind perennial All-Star Miguel Cabrera and could be making his first All-Star game appearance. Melewski believes that AL team manager Jim Leyland would have to take Machado, "The guy's on pace set a major league record for doubles, he's hitting over .300 and hes the best defensive player in the league according to defensive-metrics." JJ Hardy was the top vote getter for American League short stops while leading his position with fifteen home runs.
There is a possibility that O's pitcher Chris Tillman could end up in the game as well. Tillman currently sits with a 10-2 record with a 3.68 ERA. With two more scheduled starts before the game he could be up with league leaders with twelve wins. Tillman's catcher, Matt Wieters could also be placed in another All-Star game. Wieters was second when voting ended last night but his low batting average could keep him out of the game according to Melewski. The line-ups for the MLB All-Star game will be released Saturday night.
