O'Malley Visits BioTechnical Institute To Discuss Jobs
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Gov. Martin O'Malley is scheduled to visit the BioTechnical Institute of Maryland to talk about providing the necessary skills to boost work opportunities.
The governor is set to visit Tuesday afternoon in Baltimore.
The institute was founded in 1998 to help increase specialty training of entry-level biotechnicians for employment in Maryland's biotechnology industry.
It provides tuition-free training in basic laboratory skills to unemployed and under-employed Maryland residents. It includes a combination of on-the-job work experience and classroom instruction.
