O'Malley Talks To Troops On Skype
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley has spoken with troops in Iraq with the help of the Internet phone and video communication provider Skype.
O'Malley talked to members of the 29th Combat Aviation Brigade on Tuesday from a conference room in the Maryland State House.
The unit has more than 1,300 soldiers in Iraq performing a variety of aviation operations in support of Operation New Dawn.
The brigade includes units from more than 20 states and territories. The unit has more than 120 soldiers from Maryland. They arrived in Iraq on Sept. 30.
