O'Malley Press Aide Leaving For Boston

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Gov. Martin O'Malley's chief spokesman, Shaun Adamec, is decamping for a job in Boston.

Adamec, who's acted as O'Malley's chief line between his office and the press for the last three years, wrote Thursday in a letter to the governor that he plans to return to his native New England at the end of May.

Adamec will become the vice president of communications for City Year, a volunteer-based service group in Boston. The move will help him and his wife raise their two sons closer to their extended family, he wrote.

Adamec worked for then-Baltimore City Council President Stephanie Rawlings-Blake before joining the governor's office in 2008.
