O'Malley Nominates Wife For Second Term As Judge
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley is seeking a second term for the state's First Lady as a district court judge.
O'Malley formally nominated his wife, Judge Catherine Curran O'Malley, to a second term as a Baltimore District Court judge on Friday.
Maryland's First Lady has served as a judge since 2001. If approved by the Senate, she would serve another 10 years.
O'Malley — who won a second term in office himself in November — submitted his wife's nomination in the traditional "green bag" delivered to the Senate Friday morning. He submitted a total 225 nominations to various local election boards, district courts and other state boards.
