Ohio State Trounces Towson 16-6 In Men's Lacrosse
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Jesse King scored four goals, Carter Brown and Logan Schuss each tallied three times, and Ohio State beat Towson 16-6 in the first round of the NCAA Division I men's lacrosse tournament.
The third-seeded Buckeyes (13-3) scored four goals in each quarter to overwhelm Towson (10-8), which got three goals from Andrew Hodgson.
Playing its first-ever home game in the tournament, Ohio State fell behind 2-1 at the outset as Matthew Hughes and Hodgson each scored in the first 10 minutes of play for Towson.
The Buckeyes rallied with three goals in the final two minutes of the first quarter. King notched his 27th with 1:45 left, Brown scored a man-up goal just over a minute later and David Planning scored with one second left.
King scored again in the first minute of the second to stake Ohio State to a 5-2 lead and the Buckeyes cruised from there.
They will play Cornell (13-3) in the quarterfinals next weekend.
